NOTIFICATION

The 2nd June, 2020

No.3/2/2011-2T2/587.-Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Govt. of Punjab had declared Curfew w.e.f.

23.03.2020 which is extended upto 17.05.2020. Further Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs vide their

letter no. 40-3/2020-DM-1(A) dated 24.03.2020 issued instructions for the national Lockdown to all the State

Governments and Union Territories resultantly there is no plying of Public service vehicles including e-Rickshaws,

auto rickshaws, maxi cab/motor cab and also restricted the movement of Goods vehicles, thereby adversely

affecting the income of theTransport Sector. To provide financial relief to the Transport Sector, in exercise of

Powers conferred under section 13(3) of the Punjab Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1924, the Governor of

Punjab is pleased to exempt the Motor Vehicle Tax of all type of transport vehicles as mentioned under in the

public interest:-
