NOTIFICATION

The 22nd July, 2020

No. G.S.R. 45/P.A.8/1947/S.9/Amd.(2)/2020.-In exercise of the

powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Home Guards Act, 1947 (Punjab

Act. 8 of 1947), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor

of Punjab is pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Punjab

Home Guards and Civil Defence (Group-A) Service Rules, 1988, namely:-

RULES

1.

(1)

These rules may be called the Punjab Home Guards and Civil

Defence (Group-A) Service (First Amendment) Rules, 2020.

(2)

They shall come into force on and with effect from the date of

their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.

In the Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defence (Group-A) Service Rules,

1988, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 8, in sub rule (1),-

(i)

in clause (a) for the words “Commandant General”, the words

“Additional Commandant General” shall be substituted;

(ii)

in sub-clause (i), for the words “eight years”, the words “six years”

shall be substituted; and

(iii)

sub-clause (ii) shall be omitted.

3.

In the said rules, in Appendix ‘A’, under column 2, in serial no.1, for the

words” Commandant General, Home Guards and Director Civil Defence”,

the words “Additional Commandant General and Additional Director Civil

Defence” shall be substituted.

4.

In the said rules, in Appendix ‘B’, for serial no.1 and entries relating

thereto, the following shall be substituted; namely:-

Additional Director Civil Defence” -State Government - ”;
