NOTIFICATION

No.DSWD-1/25/2020-1DW/ I/87900/2020.-In exercise of the powers under Rule 17 of the Punjab

Defence Services Welfare Officers (Group "A") Rules, 1986, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to make the

following rules further to amend the Punjab District Defence Services Welfare Officers (Group A) Rules, 1986,

namely:-

RULES

1.

(1)

These rules may be called the "Punjab District Defence Services Welfare Officers (Group "A")

Amendment Rules, 2020.

(2)

They shall come into force with effect from 30.09.2020.

2.

In the Punjab District Defence Services Welfare Officers (Group-A) Rules, 1986 following provision, a

one time relaxation is hereby made to the existing provisions of Rule 8 of the said Rules by providing that –

"The Deputy Director or District Defence Services Welfare Officer shall be superannuated on attaining

the age of 58 years provided that where an officer has served for a period of less than NINE years, he

shall be superannuated after having served for a period of NINE years OR until he has attained the age

of 60 years, whichever is earlier”

The above relaxation in Rules, shall remain in force for a period of one year starting from 30th September,

2020 OR until newly recruited DDSWOs have joined the Department, whichever is earlier."
