NOTIFICATION

The 7th January, 2021

No. 3/7/2013/MEO/EA/49.–In continuation of notifications No. 3/7/2013/MEO/ EA/4549 and No. 3/7/2013/

MEO/ EA/4589 dated 27.11.2020, to ensure strict and meticulous compliance of COVID-19 related Standard

Operation Procedures for conducting General / Bye-elections of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils

and Nagar Panchayats-2021, it has been decided to give more time for preparations for holding elections.

Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 7-A, of the Punjab Corporation Act, 1976

and Section 13-A of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 (as amended by Act 11 of 1994), the Governor of Punjab is

pleased to direct that general elections and bye-election to elect the members of Municipal Corporations /

Municipal Councils / Nagar Panchayats and of certain ward(s) thereof, be held by 20.02.2021 instead of

13.02.2021.
