NOTIFICATION

The 22nd July, 2021

No. DLG-MSC(Census)-2021/326.-In supersession of this Department Notification No. DLG-MSC-

CP-2019 (Census)2021/171 Dated 04-05-2021, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to extend the date of freezing

of administrative boundaries of Districts, Tehsils, Towns, Community Blocks, Villages, Wards etc. in the State of

Punjab upto 31st December, 2021 for the ensuing Census as per provisions of the Census Rules, 1990 (Rule 8.iv)

to the Census Act, 1948 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

All the pending proposals, if any, affecting changes in the existing boundaries of Districts, Tehsils,

Towns, Community Blocks, Villages and Wards etc. may, therefore, be finalized on or before 31st December 2021

under intimation to the Director, Census Operations, Punjab, Chandigarh. The boundaries of administrative units

for ensuing Census will now be frozen on 31st December, 2021, till the completion of census.
