NOTIFICATION

The 29th May, 2023

No. 04/01/11/D.4/1315.–In exercise of powers u/s 20 of Chapter III of "The Prevention and Control of

Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009" the following area is being notified as "Epicentre /

Infected Area" on account of confirmation of scheduled disease "Glanders" among equines by ICAR-

National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar:-

Village Bhamia Kalan, Tajpur Road, Tehsil Ludhiana East, District Ludhiana, Punjab State.

In further exercise of powers u/s 21, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 of the aforesaid Act, necessary actions as per

the guidelines and instructions of "National Action Plan for Control & Eradication of Glanders in India- 2019"

shall be strictly implemented and the following areas are hereby declared as: -

a)

0-5 Km area around epicenter of disease declared as "Infected Zone."

b)

5-25 Km area around epicenter of disease declared as "Screening Zone."

c)

Beyond 25 kms, physical/sero-surveillance shall be conducted based on the risk assessment

and movement of equines

The notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
