NOTIFICATION

No. 307/25/2020-1BR3(4BR3)/2906.–Whereas preliminary notification no.PWD-BR307/25/2020-
1BR3/59202/2020, dated 04.08.2020 was issued under Section 11 of “The Right to Fair Compensation and
Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Act, 2013” for acquisition of land for the
public purpose namely “For Construction of Rajpura- Bathinda Double Line Project of Ambala Division of
Northern Railway”. This notification was uploaded on the website www.punjab.gov.in on 05.08.2020 and also
published in two daily newspapers “The Tribune” (English version) & “Ajit” (Punjabi version) dated 01.09.2020
& 01.09.2020 respectively.
Whereas the Governor of Punjab has extended the period of Twelve months given in sub-section 7 of
section 19 of the Act for a further period of 24 months up to 04.08.2023 by notification endst no. 07/15/2019-
1BR3 (4BR3)/2499, Dated 08.06.2023.
Whereas the Governor of Punjab is satisfied that Land specified below is needed by the government at
public expense for public purpose, namely “For Construction of Rajpura- Bathinda Double Line Project of
Ambala Division of Northern Railway”. In this connection Rehabilitation & Resettlement Scheme is not required
being a linear project.
In compliance to the provisions of Section 19 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land
Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Act, 2013, this notification is being issued post facto of the issuance
of Award dated 20.11.2020 made u/s 25 of the said Act of 2013 and also of handing over of possession of
acquired land to the Railways.
