NOTIFICATION
The 15th December, 2023
No. Lab0MISC/79/2023-2L/1432-1433.-The following draft of rules further to amend the Punjab
Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963, which the Governor of Punjab proposes to make in exercise of the
powers conferred by section 40 of the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 (Central Act No. 27 of 1961), and all
other powers enabling him in his behalf, is published as required under sub-section (1) of section 40 of the said
Act, for the information of persons likely to be affected thereby.
Notice is hereby given that the draft shall be taken into consideration by the Government on or after
the expiry of a period of six weeks from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette,
together with any objection or suggestion, which may be received by the Labour Commissioner, Punjab, Labour
Bhawan Model Welfare Centre, Sector-64, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, email id: [email protected],
from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period so specified, namely:-
DRAFT RULES
1.
(1) These rules may be called the Punjab Motor Transport Workers (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
(2) They shall come into force on and with effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

In the Punjab Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963, in rule 5, for the existing table, the following table
shall be substituted, namely: -
