NOTIFICATION

The 13th March, 2024

No. DLG(Census Cell)-24/2022/01.–In supersession of this Department Notification No. DLG (Census

Cell)-24/2022/04 Dated 18-07-2023, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to extend the date of freezing of

administrative boundaries of Districts, Tehsils, Towns, Community Blocks, Villages and Wards etc. in the State

of Punjab upto 30th June, 2024 for the ensuing Census as per provisions of the Census Rules, 1990 (Rule 8.iv)

to the Census Act, 1948.

All the pending proposals, if any, affecting changes in the existing boundaries of Districts, Tehsils,

Towns, Community Blocks, Villages and Wards etc. may, therefore, be finalized on or before 30th June, 2024

under intimation to the Director, Census Operations, Punjab, Chandigarh. The boundaries of administrative units

for ensuing Census will now be frozen on 30th June, 2024 till the completion of census.
