NOTIFICATION

The 19th March, 2024

No. HOME-HM-50MISC/48/2024-2H5/101.-In pursuance of the Election Commission of Punjab

communication No.Elec-2024/R-2296 dated 18th March, 2024 conveyed in respect of application of Model

Code of Conduct regarding General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to order and

direct that all the officers and Personnel of the police department, form the rank of Director General of Police

to that of the Constable shall be deemed to be on deputation of the Election Commission of India since they are

directly or indirectly connected with the management and conduct of the aforesaid Elections in terms of section

28A of the Representation of People Act, 1951, with immediate effect.

This shall include, but shall not be limited to the Director General of Police, Additional Director Generals

of Police, Inspector Generals of Police (at the Headquarter as well as in the field), Commissioners of Police,

Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (at Headquarter as well as in the field), Assistant Inspector Generals of

Police (at Headquarter as well as in the field), Senior Superintendents of Police, Superintendents of Police,

Sub-Divisional Police Officers like Deputy Superintendent of Police and other Police Officers/officials such as

Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, Assistant Sub Inspectors, Head Constables and Constables.

These orders of deputation shall remain in force till the end of the Election Process.
