NOTIFICATION

1.

The Governor of Punjab is pleased to constitute an expert panel consisting of the following members to

review the design of Shahpurkandi Dam, to ensure the fitness of the dam before the initial filling of the

reservoir along with terms of reference of the expert panel given as under:-

Terms of Reference:-

a.

To examine and review the design of the Shahpurkandi Dam before its initial filling.

b.

To examine and review the initial filling programme.

c.

Detailed on-site inspection of the dam and appurtenant structures.

d.

Site inspection and witnessing of testing of gates, hoists and valves that fulfil dam and reservoir safety

functions (including their operating equipment, power supplies and control, protection and telecommunication

systems).

e.

General assessment of the seismic safety of the dam.

f.

The Panel of Experts may recommend any other study/ test which they feel would be required to help the

panel arrive at definitive conclusions/recommendations. The Water Resources Department will engage

suitable experts to carry out such studies.

g.

To prepare a detailed report thereof duly certifying, the fitness of the Shahpurkandi Dam considering

structural and operational safety aspects on a long-term basis.

Details of remuneration, Lodging and Boarding (excluding officers working under the Water Resources

Department, Punjab) will be given as below:-

Remuneration

Rs. 40,000/- lumpsum per member/ Chairman for the Terms of Reference

(TOR) shall be paid one time after completion of the task.

Rs. 7500/- per day for Chairman and members for actual days spent on travel

and site visit to project/other places for inspection of works or to attend meeting

called by project officers.

Air/Train Travel

Economy Class by any airlines for Air travel.

First Class AC for Train travel

Lodging, boarding and

A detailed report thereof, duly certifying the fitness of the Shahpurkandi Dam considering its structural and

operational safety aspects on a long-term basis, after examining and reviewing its design before initial

filling shall be prepared, signed and submitted by the expert panel to the Chief Engineer/Dams, WRD,

Punjab, Shahpurkandi Township within 90 days from date of this Notification.

5.

The necessary action for payment of the Remuneration, Travel, Lodging & Boarding Charge etc. shall be

taken by the Executive Engineer, SPK Dam & HR Division, Shahpurkandi Township.
