NOTIFICATION

The 3rd July, 2023

No.MER-HTH3011A/70/2023-3HB3/E524396/I/591005/2023.-In supersession of the order

no.11/53/96-4HB3-12377 dated 8-5-1997, the State Government in the interest of public as well as police

administration, hereby authorises the following institutions to conduct Medico-Legal and Post Mortem work,

in their respective jurisdiction, as mentioned hereunder:-

1.

Routine postmortem cases (for hospital deaths, and local police stations as per jurisdiction)

2.

Referral postmortem cases jurisdiction in the State of Punjab as under:

a. Government Medical College, Amritsar: Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala,

Pathankot, Tarn Taran.

b. Government Medical College, Patiala: Ludhiana, Malerkotla, Patiala, Sangrur.

c. Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot: Faridkot, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Moga, Sri Muktsar

Sahib.

d. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, SAS Nagar (Mohali): Fatehgarh

Sahib, Rupnagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar.

e. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda: Barnala, Bathinda, Mansa.

Histopathology examination (same as referral jurisdiction)
