NOTIFICATION

No.06/05/2022-6Hg1/2145.-Whereas, land acquisition proceedings in respect of "acquiring 8.48
Acres land as Critical Gap in the project of DLF Home Developers Ltd. to develop the mega project in village
Bharonjia, Salamatpur and Devi Nagar, Ratwara in the area of Tehsil Kharar, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh
Nagar in accordance with the approved Master Plan of New Chandigarh were initiated by publishing a
preliminary notification under section 4 of the " Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land
Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013" on 03.03.2023 and publication was made under
Section 6 to be read with 24(1).
Whereas, Department of Housing and Urban Development had constituted expert group for the
appraisal of Social Impact Assessment Report submitted by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The
Expert group has made recommendations to the Administrative Secretary, Department of Housing and
Urban Development, Punjab on 02.11.2023 U/s 7 of Ibid Act. Accordingly, notification U/s-11 of "The
Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement
Act, 2013" was supposed to be published within 12 months from the date of submission of appraisal of SIA
report by Expert Group. However, the appropriate Government, shall have the power to extend the period
of twelve months, if in its opinion circumstances exist justifying the same. The Competent Authority has yet
to approve the recommendations of the Expert Group in this matter. Thus, the Notification U/s 11 could not
be issued in the specified time period.
Therefore, In view of the above, the Governor of Punjab is satisfied that issuance of U/s 11
notification in respect of land being acquired as critical gap needs extension as acquisition of the land is
necessitated in the public interest. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under U/s 14 of "The
