NOTIFICATION

The 17th December, 2024

No. Labour-Lab0FAFR/2/2024-2L/991490.–Whereas the General and Bye-Elections to 5 Municipal

Corporations and various Municipal Councils/ Nagar Panchayats for which poll shall be held in the State, as

per letter No. SEC-PE-SAM-2024/9689 dated 09.12.2024 of State Election Commission, Punjab and whereas,

it is considered necessary to provide opportunity to those workers who are working in registered factories in

the State of Punjab and are enrolled as voter within the revenue jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies as

mentioned in the attached Annexure-I to exercise their franchise.

Now, therefore in exercise the power conferred by sub-section 2 of section 65 of the Factories

Act, 1948 (Central Act 63 of 1948) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, Governor of Punjab is

pleased to exempt those workers who are working in the registered factories situated in the State of

Punjab and are enrolled as voter within the revenue jurisdiction of the Municipal Bodies as mentioned in

the attached Annexure-I, from the operations of provisions of sub-section 1 of Section 52 of the said act on

the date of poll 21th December, 2024 (Saturday).
