NOTIFICATION

The 16th January, 2025

No. DLG (Census Cell)-24/2022/01.–In supersession of this Department Notification No. DLG

(Census Cell)-24/2022/02 Dated 11-10-2024, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to extend the date of freezing of

administrative boundaries of Districts, Tehsils, Towns, Community Blocks, Villages and Wards etc. in the State

of Punjab upto 30th June, 2025 for the ensuing Census as per provisions of the Census Rules, 1990 (Rule 8.iv)

of the Census Act, 1948.

All the pending proposals, if any, affecting changes in the existing administrative boundaries of Districts,

Tehsils, Towns, Community Blocks, Villages and Wards etc. may, therefore, be finalized on or before

30th June, 2025 under intimation to the Director, Census Operations, Punjab, Chandigarh. The boundaries of

administrative units for ensuing Census will now be frozen on 1st July, 2025 till the completion of census.
