NOTIFICATION

The 27th February, 2025

No. Labour-Lab0FAFR/2/2024-2L/1043483.- Whereas the General Elections to Municipal Councils

Tarn Taran (Tarn Taran), Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur) and Talwara (Hoshiarpur) for which poll shall be held

in the State, as per letter No. SEC/ME/SAM(CME)/2025/805 dated 17.02.2025 of State Election Commission,

Punjab and whereas, it is considered necessary to provide opportunity to those workers who are working in

registered factories in the State of Punjab and are enrolled as voter within the revenue jurisdiction of these three

Municipal Councils to exercise their franchise.

Now, therefore in exercise the power conferred by sub-section 2 of section 65 of the Factories Act,

1948 (Central Act 63 of 1948) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, Governor of Punjab is pleased to

exempt those workers who are working in the registered factories situated in the State of Punjab and are

enrolled as voter within the revenue jurisdiction of these three Municipal Councils, from the operations of

provisions of sub-section 1 of Section 52 of the said act on the date of poll 2nd March, 2025 (Sunday).
