NOTIFICATION

The 29th July, 2025

No. WR-IRWR04/16/2023-IW1/1732.–In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 38 of the

Canal and Drainage Act, 2023, and all other enabling provisions, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to amend the

Government of Punjab, Department of Water Resources Notifications No. WR-IRWR04/16/2023-IW1/315

dated 18.09.2023 and No. WR-IRWR04/16/2023-IW1/2516 dated 26.06.2024, issued to address the concerns

raised by various stakeholders, as follows:

Pursuant to the ongoing modernization of administrative processes:

The Water Resources Department has mandated that all the applications for Drainage No Objection

Certificates (NOCs), shall henceforth be primarily processed through the Department's designated online

portal i.e WRD portal.

Clause on Rejection of Application:

Any application submitted without the complete documentation shall be liable for outright rejection.

In such cases, the processing fee, if paid, shall not be refunded.

Upon intimation of deficiencies, applicants shall be granted a period of 21 (twenty-one) days to

rectify and resubmit the required information/documents. Failure to comply within the stipulated

timeframe shall result in the automatic removal of the application from the portal. A fresh application

along with the applicable processing fee, if any, shall be required thereafter.
