identification Committee as under:-

Administrative Secretary to Government of Punjab

Administrative Secretary to Government of Punjab

Administrative Secretary to Government of Punjab

Department of Local Government

Administrative Secretary to Government of Punjab

Department of Rural Development & Panchayats

VII.

Head of Department, Directorate of Statistics

The Headquarters of the committee shall be at Chandigarh. The committee shall meet from time to time

and at a place to be decided by the chairman of the committee.

The functions of the committee shall be as under:-

I.

The Committee will broadly scrutinize the criteria for declaring the backward areas.

II.

The Committee will select the areas to be included for processing for declaration of backward area.

III.

The committee will recommend the area to be declared as backward in Punjab specifically ordered by

the Government.

IV.

Any other related functions that may be assigned by the Government regarding Backward Area.

The term of the committee will be on the permanent basis.
