NOTIFICATION

The 12th January, 2026

No. WR-IRWR003/2/2026-IW1/38.- The Governor of Punjab is pleased to allow NHAI or its agencies

to carry out the desiltation in River Sutlej at the sites allotted by the Department of Water Resources at Rs. 3 per

Cft i.e. the price at which desilting contract at Siswan Dam was executed with the further condition that the

above said price shall be available to NHAI or its contractors/agencies only till 30th June 2026. In case the

desilting is not completed by 30th June, 2026 the above said rates shall thereafter not be applicable and the

NHAI or its contractors will have to compete through open tendering process. NHAI will further ensure that

the material excavated from above sites shall be exclusively used in their road projects only and it shall take all

necessary steps to ensure that no material excavated from sites allotted to NHAI shall be sold in open market.

(b) In this regard, Exemption from the provision of the Punjab Transparency in Public Procurement Act,

2019 as provided under Section 63 of the Act, is also granted.

This issues in compliance with orders of the Department of General Administration (Cabinet Affairs

Branch) issued vide its ID number 01/05/2026-1e?p/119, dated 09.01.2026.
