NOTIFICATION

No.17/10/2023-3IP3/160.-Previously, re-structuring of the Department of Water Resources,

Mines and Geology was done vide Government order dated 29.7.2020 issued vide Endst.No.17/

55/2018-3 IP3/1091-1094, dated 29.10.2020.

However, in order to utilize human resources optimally, the Department has re-assessed the work

load once again in consultation with the Department of Personnel and Department of Finance.

The Department of Finance vide its File No.FD-PP-2014(REST)512022-5FP2/1/455490/2022, dated

9.11.2022 concurred with the proposal of the Administrative Department. The matter was placed

before. Officers' Committee headed by the Chief Secretary Punjab which approved the proposal in

its meeting held on 24.1.2023. The proposal was subsequently placed before the Council of Ministers

in its meeting held on 10.3.2023 for consideration. The Council of Ministers approved the proposal

vide ID No.1/60/2023-1 Cabinet/1402, dated 10.3.2023.

Therefore, in pursuit of the concurrence of Department of Finance, approval of the Officers'

Committee headed by the Chief Secretary, Punjab and decision of Council of Ministers, in

partial modification and continuation of Government order dated 29.7.2020 issued vide Endst.

No. 17/55/2018-3 IP3/1091-1094, dated 29.10.2020, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to

accord its approval for retaining various posts falling in Group 'A', 'B', 'C and 'D' Services,

the detail of which is indicated in Annexure-I to this notification.

However, as per previous Re-structuring issued vide Government order dated 29.7.2020 issued

vide Endst. No.17/55/2018-3 IP3/1091-1094, dated 29.10.2020, the existing sanctioned posts which

have not been included in the Annexure-I shall stand declared diminishing ones.

As per decision of the Officers' Committee and Council of Ministers as indicated in para 3.0 above,

the Governor of Punjab is further pleased to authorize the Administrative Department of Water

Resources, Mines and Geology that internal distribution within the offices of the Department basedon

newly sanctioned and proposed abolition of posts shall be done by the Department itself.

6.0

Further as per decision of the Officers' Committee and Council of Ministers as indicated in para

3.0 above, the Governor of Punjab is further pleased to authorize the Administrative Department

of Water Resources, Mines and Geology that in future in case it is felt that existence of any or

some posts lost its relevance or found to be surplus owing to any reason, whatsoever, to abolish

such post(s) or make adjustments including change of nomenclature slightly in equal or lower pay

matrix attached to such posts(s) so as to eliminate any possible confusion.

7.0

The aforesaid re-structuring shall come into with immediate effect.
