and Census Commissioner, Home Ministry, New Delhi, India, S.O.2681(A). dated 16 June,

2025 is being circulated by the State Government for general information.

का.आ. 2681 (अ).- केंद्रीय सरकार, जनगणना अधिननयम, 1948 (1948 का 37) की िारा 3 द्वारा प्रित्त

शजक्तयों का प्रयोग करते हुए और भारत के राजपत्र असािारण, भाग 2, खंड 3 उपखंड (ii) तारीख 28 माचव,

2019 में प्रकालशत भारत सरकार के गृह मंत्रालय (भारत के महारजजस्ट्रार का कायावलय) की अधिसूचना

संखयांक का.आ. 1455(अ) तारीख 26 माचव, 2019 के अधिक्रमण में, उन बातों के लसवाय जजन्हें ऐसे

7055 राजस्ट् थान राज-पत्र, जून 24, 2025 भाग 1(ख)

अधिक्रमण से पहले ककया गया है या करने का लोप ककया गया है, यह घोषणा करती है कक भारत की

जनसंखया की जनगणना वषव 2027 के िौरान की जाएगी।

2. उक्त जनगणना के ललए संिभव तारीख, संघ राज्यक्षेत्र लद्दाख के और संघ राज्यक्षेत्र जम्मू-कश्मीर तथा

दहमाचल प्रिेश एवं उत्तराखंड राज्यों के दहमाच्छादित असमकाललक क्षेत्रों के लसवाय, माचव, 2027 के पहले दिन

के 00:00 बजे होगी।

3. संघ राज्यक्षेत्र लद्दाख के ललए और संघ राज्यक्षेत्र जम्मू-कश्मीर तथा दहमाचल प्रिेश एवं उत्तराखंड राज्यों के

दहमाच्छादित असमकाललक क्षेत्रों के ललए संिभव तारीख अक्तूबर, 2026 के पहले दिन के 00:00 बजे होगी।

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 16^th June, 2025.

S.O. 2681(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), and in

supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs (Office of the

Registrar General, India) number S.O. 1455(E), dated the 26^th March, 2019 published in the Gazette of India,

Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub- section (ii), dated the 28^th March, 2019, except as respects things done or

omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby declares that a census of the

population of India shall be taken during the year 2027.

2. The reference date for the said census shall be 00.00 hours of the 1^St day of March, 2027, except for the Union

territory of Ladakh and snow-bound non-synchronous areas of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and

the States of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

3. In respect of the Union territory of Ladakh and snow-bound non-synchronous areas of the Union territory of

Jammu and Kashmir and the States of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the reference date shall be 00:00

hours of the 1^st day of October, 2026.
