Election of (1) six members to the syndicate by the Senate from among its members and

(2) two members to the academic council by the Senate from among its members

(who are not Engaged in Teaching)

It is hereby notifi ed that the election to (i) THE SYNDICATE and (ii) THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL will be held under

Section 18(a) -Other Members, sub-section (1) and Section 23(a) - Other Members, sub-section (1) of the Madras University

Act, 1923 respectively.

(i) TO THE SYNDICATE (Section 18(a) -Other Members, Sub-Section (1) SIX MEMBERS to be elected by the

Senate from among its members.

The newly elected member will hold offi ce as member of the Syndicate for a period of three years from the last date

of receipt of nomination / date of withdrawal i.e., from 30-03-2018 to 29-03-2021 (since the tenure of existing members

is ceases on 29-03-2018) / the date of election i.e., from 31-03-2018 to 30-03-2021 or till the date of cessation of his/

her membership in the Senate / Academic Council whichever is earlier.

(ii) TO THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL (Section 23(a) - Other Members, sub-section (1)) TWO MEMBERS to be

elected by the Senate from among its members who are not engaged in teaching.

The newly elected members will hold offi ce as member of the Academic Council for a period of three years from the date

of receipt of nomination/the date of withdrawal/the date of election/the date of declaration of results whichever is applicable

for the election.

The above election will be conducted on the date of the Annual Meeting of the Senate scheduled to be held on

SATURDAY, the 31st March 2018.

I hereby declare that Dr. Harold Nirmal Kumar, M.Com., M.Phil., M.Ed., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of

Commerce, Agurchand Manmull Jain College, Meenambakkam, Chennai, has been duly elected to the Senate by the

Academic Council from among its own body of whom not less than Five shall be teachers of affi liated colleges under

Section 14(a) - Other Members (2) of the Madras University Act 1923, for the Residual Period upto 28-09-2019 or till

the date of cessation of his membership in the Academic Council whichever is earlier.
