OBITUARY NOTICE

[G.O. Rt. No. 1604, Public (Special-B), 30th April 2018,

Chithirai 17, Vilambi, Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2049.]

No.I/PUSP/18/2018.—The Government of Tamil Nadu

record with deep and profound regret the untimely death

of one of its Senior Offi cers, Thiru Ashok Ranjan Mohanty, I.A.S.,

formerly Commissioner, Archaeology, Chennai on 30th April,

2018 at the age of 59 years.

2. He was appointed to the Indian Administrative Service

on 20-05-1985. He started his career as Assistant Collector

(Training) in Virudhunagar. He held various posts in Government

of Tamil Nadu which includes Executive Offi cer of Arulmigu

Dhandayuthapani Swami Temple Palani, Collector Cuddalore,

Director Sericulture, Managing Director Tamil Nadu Medical

Service Corporation, Additional Secretary to Government

MA & WS Department, Special Secretary to Government

Commercial Taxes / Industries / Agriculture Departments and

Secretary, TNPSC / SHRC.

3. In the death of Thiru Ashok Ranjan Mohanty, I.A.S.,

the Government of Tamil Nadu have lost one of its senior

offi cers. The Government places on record its condolence to

the bereaved family members.
