to appoint Kumari Justice Indira Banerjee, Chief Justice of

the Madras High Court, to be a Judge of the Supreme Court

of India with effect from the date she assumes charge of her

New Delhi-110 011, dated 6th August, 2018 is republished.—

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the

Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri

Justice Huluvadi Gangadharappa Ramesh, senior-most Judge

of the Madras High Court, to perform the duties of the ofﬁ ce

of Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date

Kumari Justice Indira Banerjee, relinquishes charge of the

ofﬁ ce of the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court consequent

upon her appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of

India till Shrimati Justice Vijaya Kamlesh Tahilramani assumes

the charge of her ofﬁ ce as the Chief Justice of the Madras High

Court.
