Declaration of the premises of Valve Station (SV 16) located at Ugayanur Village, Tiruppur South Taluk and Valve Station

(SV 17) located at No. 22 Mettupalayam Village, Kangeyam Taluk, Tiruppur District as "Prohibited Place" under the

Official Secrets Act.

WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Government of Tamil Nadu, it is necessary to declare the premises of Valve Station

(SV 16) at Ugayanur Village, Tiruppur South Taluk and Valve Station (SV 17) at No. 22 Mettupalayam Village, Kangeyam

Taluk, Tiruppur District as specifi ed in the Schedule below to be the "Prohibited Place" under sub-clause (d) of clause (8) of

Section 2 of the Offi cial Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923), on the ground that information with respect thereto, or

the destruction or obstruction thereof, or interference therewith, would be useful to an enemy;

AND WHEREAS, in pursuance of clause (1) of Article 258 of the Constitution of India, the Government of India, Ministry

of Home Affairs, have, in their Notifi cation No. S.O.No.1285, dated the 4th May 1963, published in the Gazette of India, dated

the 11th May 1963, entrusted to the Government of Tamil Nadu, the functions of the Central Government in relation to any

matter specifi ed in sub-clauses (c) and (d) of clause (8) of Section 2 of the Offi cial Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923);

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (d) of clause (8) of Section 2 of the Offi cial

Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares, with effect on and from the date

of publication of this Notifi cation in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, the premises of Valve Station (SV 16) at Ugayanur

Village, Tiruppur South Taluk,Tiruppur District and Valve Station (SV 17) located at No. 22, Mettupalayam Village, Kangeyam

Taluk, Tiruppur District as specifi ed in the Schedule below to be the "Prohibited Place" for the purposes of the said Act-
