Draft Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules.

No. SRO A-46/2018.—The following draft amendments to the Tamil Nadu contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules,

1975 which is proposed to be made in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 35 of the Contract Labour (Regulation

and Abolition) Act, 1970 (Central Act 37 of 1970), is hereby published for information of all persons likely to be affected

thereby as required under sub-section (1) of Section 35 of the said Act.

(2) Notice is hereby given that the following draft amendments will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry

of the period of one month from the date of publication of this notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and that

any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person with respect thereto, before expiry of the aforesaid

period, will be considered by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Objection or suggestion, if any, shall be addressed in duplicate

to the Secretary to Government, Labour and Employment Department, Secretariat, Chennai-9, through the Commissioner of

Labour Chennai-6.

Draft Amendments.

In the said Rules,-

(1) in rule 17,-

(a) in sub-rule (2), after the expression, “or online payment through online portal of Directorate of Industrial

Safety and Health”, the expression “or proof of online payment made through online portal of department of Labour”, shall

be inserted;

(b) in sub-rule (3), after the expression “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety

and Health”, the expression, “or through online portal of department of Labour”, shall be inserted;

(2) in rule 21,-

(a) in sub-rule (3), after the expression, “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety

and Health”, the expression, “or through online portal of department of Labour”, shall be inserted;

(b) in sub-rule (5), after the expression, “or online payment through online portal of Directorate of Industrial

Safety and Health”, the expression, “or proof of online payment made through online portal of department of Labour”, shall be

inserted;

(3) in rule 29,-

(a) in sub-rule (12A), after the expression, “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial

Safety and Health”, the expression, “or through online portal of department of Labour”, shall be inserted;

(b) in proviso to sub-rule (2A), after the expression, “online payment through online portal of Directorate of

Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression, “or proof of online portal of department of Labour”, shall be inserted.
