EXTENSION OF THE PERIOD OF THE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY BY SIX MONTHS FROM

23RD FEBRUARY 2019 INTO CAUSES AND CIRCUMSTANCES LEADING TO THE OPENING

OF FIRE RESULTING IN DEATH AND INJURIES TO PERSONS ON 22ND MAY 2018 AT

THOOTHUKUDI UNDER THE COMMISSIONS OF INQUIRY ACT.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Commissions of Inquiry

Act, 1952 (Central Act LX of 1952), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to

the Public (Law and Order-F) Department Notifi cation No.II(2)/PULO/481(c)/2018, published at Pages 1-2 of

Part II-Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 23rd May 2018, as

subsequently amended.

In the said Notification, in paragraph 4, for the expression ''nine months'', the expression

''fi fteen months'' shall be substituted.
