Under the ''Explanation'' to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act, XXVI of 1881) read with

the Notifi cation of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Aff airs No.20-25-26, Public-1, dated the 8th June 1957, the

Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares Thursday, the 18th April 2019, the date on which the poll for the General Elections

to Lok Sabha and Bye-Elections to 18 Assembly Constituencies of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly - 2019 will take Place

in Tamil Nadu, to be a Public Holiday.
