[ELECTIONS - CONDUCT OF PANCHAYAT ELECTIONS - POLLING STATIONS - PROVISION AND PUBLICATION -

ELECTORAL ROLLS - PREPARATION - NOTIFICATION ISSUED.]

In exercise of the powers conferred under rule 11, 14, 18 and 20 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Elections)

Rules, 1995 and in supersession of the Notification No. VI(2)/32(a)/2017, Published at Part VI – Section 2 of the

Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, No.64, dated March 16, 2017, at Pages 1-5, the Tamil Nadu State

Election Commission hereby directs that,-

the Polling Stations for the purpose of conducting poll under the said Rules shall be provided in the manner

prescribed in the Instructions - 2016 issued in the form of Handbook titled @ifnaL – 1, th¡F¢rhtofŸ mik¤jš –

m¿ÎiufŸ@;

the approved list of Polling Stations shall be published by the Returning Officer at the following places namely:-

(i)

Office of the District Election Officer,

(ii)

Office of the District Panchayat,

(iii) Office of the Block Development Officer,

(iv) Office of the Village Panchayat, and

(v) Such other places as the Returning Officer may consider necessary.

the title, specimen and other particulars of the electoral roll and the specimen of the certificate to be

given by the concerned Panchayat Electoral Registration Officer at the end of each part shall be as indicated in the

Annexure I, II and III respectively appended to this Notification;

the electoral roll to be published shall be prepared and printed in the language of Tamil and in addition, the

languages in which the electoral roll of Assembly Constituencies is prepared and published;

the every part of the electoral roll shall have the sketch of the polling area enclosed next to the title page;

the electoral roll to be published shall be printed as directed by the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission

and the number of copies to be printed shall be as indicated in the Annexure IV appended to this notification; and

two copies of the electoral roll shall be supplied free of cost to the recognised political parties as notified by

this Commission, from time to time.
