AMENDMENTS TO THE TAMIL NADU REGULATION OF RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OF LANDLORDS AND TENANTS RULES, 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 45 of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of

Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017 (Tamil Nadu Act 42 of 2017), the Governor of

Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities

of Landlords and Tenants Rules, 2019, namely:—

Aඕඍඖඌඕඍඖගඛ.

In the said Rules,—

(1) in rule 3,—

(a) in sub-rule (2), for the words “within ninety days from the date of execution of such an

agreement”, the words “before 22nd day of August 2019 or within ninety days from the date

of execution of such agreement, whichever is later” shall be substituted;

(b) in sub-rule (4), for the words “ninety days”, the words “two hundred and ten days” shall be

substituted;

(2) in rule 8, in sub-rule (1), for the expression “9, 14, 15 or 20”, the expression “10, 14, 15 and 20”

shall be substituted.
