of 1948), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby exempts the

10-01-2018 to 09-01-2019.

factories in the State of Tamil Nadu speciﬁ ed in column (2)

entries in column (3) thereof:-

* Note: Employee who works for 4 hours or less than

4 hours during a day shall be treated as a part-time worker.

Explanation.- (1) Dearness Allowance.- In addition

to the minimum rates of basic wages ﬁ xed above, the

employees shall be paid dearness allowance as indicated

below:-

(i)

The dearness allowance is linked to the Average

Chennai City Consumer Price Index for the

year 2010, that is for Chennai 161 points with

Base year 2001=100 and for every raise of one

point over and above 161 points, an increase

of Rs.1.10 (One rupee and ten paise only) per

day shall be paid as dearness allowance.

(ii)

The dearness allowance shall be revised on

the ﬁ rst January, ﬁ rst April, ﬁ rst July and ﬁ rst

October of every year based on the average

Consumer Price Index of Chennai City with

base 2001 = 100 for the second previous

quarter beginning from ﬁ rst July, ﬁ rst October,

ﬁ rst January and ﬁ rst April, respectively.

(iii) The ﬁ rst calculation shall thus be eﬀ ective

from the date of-publication of this notiﬁ cation

in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, based

on the method as prescribed above.

(a)To arrive at daily rate of wages, the monthly

rate of wages shall be divided by 26.

of wages shall be multiplied by 30

Where the same work or work of a similar nature

is performed, no distinction. in the payment of wages shall

be made as between men and women employees.

Wherever the existing wages are higher than the

minimum wages ﬁ xed herein, the same shall be continued

to be paid.

for information of all persons likely to be aﬀ ected thereby,

as required by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 5

of the said Act.

2. Notice is hereby given that any objection or suggestion,

which may be received from any person with respect thereto,

on or before 14th November 2019 will be considered by

the Government of Tamil Nadu. Objection and suggestion,

Explanations.-(1) The above revised minimum rates of

wages shall also apply to the agricultural labourers employed

in Colleges and Research Stations under the Tamil Nadu

Agricultural University and Agricultural Farms maintained by the

Agriculture, Horticulture and other Government Departments.

(2) Where there is no diﬀ erence in the daily hours of

work and where the same work or work of a similar nature

is performed, no distinction in the payment of wages should

be made between men and women workers as per the

Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 (Central Act 25 of 1976).

(3) For the purpose of this Notiﬁ cation, the minimum

rates of wages speciﬁ ed above shall be all inclusive of rate

allowing for the basic rate, cost of living allowance and the

cash value of concession, if any, but it does not include

the cost of food, if any, supplied to the workers and hence

the cost of food shall not be deducted from the minimum

rates of wages paid to the workers.

Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai who is proﬁ cient

in Bachelor of Fine Arts(Painting).

WHEREAS an application has been made to the

Government of Tamil Nadu under clause (b) of sub-section

(1) of Section 6 of the Charitable Endowments Act, 1890

(Central Act VI of 1890), by Thiru S.Arun, 32, KG Layout,

K.K.Pudur, Coimbatore-641 038, the donor of the said

Endowment for vesting the property speciﬁ ed in the Schedule

below with the Treasurer of Charitable ‘Endowments, Chennai,

appointed under the said Act for the State of Tamil Nadu,

the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in exercise of the powers

conferred by Section 4 of the said Act, hereby orders that

the said property be vested with the Treasurer aforesaid

and be held by him and his successors in Oﬃ ce, subject

to the provisions of the said Act and the rules which, from

time to time, may be or shall be deemed to have been

made thereunder from upon the Trust for the purposes and

subject to the conditions set forth in the Scheme, settled

under Section 5 of the said Act for the administration of

the said Endowment.

WHEREAS an application has been made to the

Government of Tamil Nadu under clause (b) of sub-section

(Central Act VI of 1890) by Thiru S.Arun, the donor of the

said Endowment, for settling a scheme for the Administration

of the said Fund, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in exercise

of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the said Act,

hereby settled the Scheme set forth in the Scheme below

for the administration of the said Fund and appoints the

date of application of this notiﬁ cation in the Tamil Nadu

Government Gazette as the date on which the Scheme

as so called shall come into operation.

of Fine Arts, Chennai for the cash award of Rs.5000/- or

The Endowment fund which consist of Rs.60,000/-

time to time reinvested in a Fixed Deposit in any of the

Nationalised Banks in the name of the said Endowment.

The Principal, Government College of Fine Arts,

Chennai, shall be the administrator of the fund.

4. From out of the interest accruing annually on

the fund, there shall be an award of a “Cash Prize” of

Rs.5000/- which shall be called as “Tmt.Chellam Subramanian

Memorial Award” .

The said “Cash Prize” of Rs.5000/- shall be

awarded to the student of Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree who

gets First Rank in the ﬁ eld of Painting in the Government

College of Fine Arts, Chennai.

In the case of a tie, the award shall be divided

equally among the students eligible for the award.

All the interest accruing on the fund that may not

be utilized or required for the award shall be accumulated

and such accumulations shall from time to time be reinvested

in the same bank and be added to the Corpus of the fund.

The decision of the administrator of the fund shall

be ﬁ nal in all matters relating to the administration of the

fund.
