All the District Courts, Subordinate Courts and Munsif Courts in this District will reopen on 1st June 2020 after

Summer Vacation.

No plaint, petition except application for grant of Copies and for Service and Execution of process shall be received

by the Civil Court during the Vacation.

The Oﬃ ce of the Copyists, Process Service and Execution Departments shall be kept open through the vacation

provided that no arrest warrant shall be executed during the vacation.

For furnishing the copies and process with necessary records and original order.

For transmitting records to the High Court, Madras required for appeal etc.

For attending all Administrative correspondence.

In view of the instructions contained i.e. Rule 162 of the Criminal Rules of Practice and Circular order and as

ordered in High Court’s Oﬃ cial Memorandum in Roc.No.88001-A/2019/C3, dated 12-12-2019. Applications in urgent

criminal matters should be made to the High Court of Judicature, Madras, if no Vacation, Sessions Judge is appointed

or in the absence of the Vacation Sessions Judge for Salem District during the above adjournments.

Under Section 38 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act, as amended by Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1958

if a Vacation Civil Judge is appointed to Salem District, suits, appeals and other proceedings of the urgent nature will

be received and disposed of by him in terms and rules that may be.

2. Holidays for all the Civil units of Salem District for the year 2020.

(a) All Sundays are holidays for all the Courts in Salem District.

(b) The following 10 Saturdays are working days for all the Courts including Family Court functioning in the

Salem District.

04-01-2020, 01-02-2020, 07-03-2020, 25-04-2020, 06-06-2020, 04-07-2020, 05-09-2020, 07-11-2020, 21-11-2020 and

05-12-2020.

Except the above Saturdays, all other Saturdays are holidays for all the Courts, except Family Court, Salem.

Family Court, Salem shall work on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month except those Saturdays which are

declared as Public Holidays. All other Saturdays are declared as holidays, except 25-04-2020 which is declared as

working day.
