All the Holidays notifi ed as Holidays Public and Government Holidays for the Year 2020 in the High Court’s Offi cial
Memorandum in R.O.C.No.88001-A/2019/C3, Dated: 12.12.2020.
No Plaints or Petitions except applications for grant of copies and for service of processes, will be received by the above
courts during the Summer Vacation, 2020.
The Copyist and Process Service Establishments will be kept open throughout the Summer Vacation 2020.
The Offi cers of the other section will remain closed and arrangements will however be made in respect of the following
items.
1.
For transmitting records in Appeal to the High Court, Madras.
2.
For all administrative correspondence.
3.
For furnishing necessary records to the Copyist and process service Establishment for preparation of copies
and for preparation of process respectively.
Urgent applications for bail during the Summer Vacation will be heard by the vacation Judge, appointed by
High Court, Madras.
VACATION COURT
The Vacation Civil Judges appointed by the High Court, Madras will attend the urgent Civil and Criminal work during
the summer Vacation 2020.

Subordinate Civil Courts
In Sivagangai District for the Year 2020

Notice is hereby given that the Principal District and Sessions Court, Sivagangai and other Subordinate Civil Courts in Sivagangai
District will be closed for Summer Vacation for the year 2020 as detailed below.
SUMMER VACATION – 2020
1. The Principal District and Sessions Court of Sivagangai, The Additional District and Sessions Court, Sivagangai and
the Civil Courts of the Subordinate and Assistant Sessions Judges of Sivagangai, Manamadurai and Devakottai will remain
closed from Friday, the 1st day of May-2020 to Sunday, the 31st day of May -2020. (both days inclusive).
2. The District Munsif of Sivagangai, Devakottai, the Court of Principal District Munsif, Manamadurai, the Court of Additional
District Munsif, Karaikudi, the Courts of District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrates, Karaikudi, Thiruppathur and Ilayangudi,
Thiruppuvanam, Singampunari (Civil side) and the Court of Additional District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Manamadurai
(Civil Side) will remain closed from Friday, the 1st day of May-2020 to Sunday, the 31st day of May -2020 (both days inclusive).
3. The Fast Track Mahila Court, the Family Court, the Special Court for exclusive trial of SC/ST (POA), 1992 Act, the
Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under POCSO Act, Sivagangai and the Special Court for exclusive trial of Prevention
of corruption cases will remain open through out the vacation.
4. The Offi ce of the Offi cial Receiver, Sivagangai will remain open through out the Vacation.
5. (i) No Plaint or Petitions except applications for grant of copies and for service and execution of process will be
received during the vacation.
(ii)
In case, a Vacation Civil Judge is appointed by the Government for this District, urgent plaints, appeals
and petitions in Civil cases alone will be received and disposed off by him in exercise of the powers vested in him under
Section 30 of the Central Act III of 1873, as amended by Madras Act 17 of 1959.
6.
The Offi ce of the Copyist and Process Service Establishment will be kept open through out the Vacation, but no
arrest warrants will be executed during the Vacation.
7.
The Offi ce of the other departments will remain closed. Arrangements will however be made
(a) for transmitting records in appeals etc., to the Honourable High Court;
(b) for attending the all administrative correspondences;
(c) for furnishing the copies and process service with necessary records and Original Orders; and
(d) for receiving the printing charges and plan fees etc., deposited into Court in respect of Copy application.
8.
Urgent applications for bail during the absence of the Sessions Judge from the Sivagangai Division during the
Vacation should be made to the Honourable Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai provided no Vacation Sessions
Judge is appointed for Sivagangai Division.
DUSSERA HOLIDAYS
9. The Principal District Court and all other Civil and Sessions Courts in this District will remain closed for the Dussehra
Holidays from Saturday, the 17th day of October – 2020 to Monday, the 26th day of October – 2020. (both days inclusive).
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
10. The Principal District Court and all other Civil and Sessions Courts in this District will remain closed for the Christmas
Holidays from Friday, the 25th day of December, 2020 to Thursday, the 31st day of December – 2020. (both days inclusive).

(d) All the Family Courts functioning in the State of Tamil Nadu shall work on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month
