Amendments to the tamil nadu juvenile justice (care and protection of

children) rules, 2017.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 110 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and

Protection of Children) Act, 2015, (Central Act 2 of 2016), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following

amendments to the Tamil Nadu Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2017.

Amendments

In the said Rules,-

(1) in rule 4, in sub-rule (1), in item (iii), for the expression “Commissioner of Police/District Superintendent of

Police”, the expression “Commissioner of Police or any other Police officer not below the rank of Superintendent

of Police deputed by the Commissioner of Police/District Superintendent of Police, as the case may be” shall

be substituted; and

(2) in rule 17, in sub-rule (1), in item (iii), for the expression “Commissioner of Police or District Superintendent

of Police as the case may be”, the expression “Commissioner of Police or any other Police officer not below the

rank of Superintendent of Police deputed by the Commissioner of Police or District Superintendent of Police,

as the case may be” shall be substituted.
