No. II(1)/CFCP/7(j)/2020.—The following order of the Government of India Ministry of Consumer affairs, Food and Public

Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) New Delhi, the 13th March, 2020 is republished:—

S.O.1087(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 2A, of the Essential Commodities Act,

1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Government, hereby makes the following Order, to regulate the production, quality, distribution,

logistics of masks (2ply & 3 ply surgical masks N95 Masks) and hand sanitizers (for COVID 19 management) namely:—

1. (1) This Order may be called the Essential Commodities Order, 2020.

(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in the Schedule, after serial No. (7), the following item shall be added,

namely:—

"(8) masks (2ply & 3 ply surgical masks N95 Masks) and hand sanitizers".

3. This Notiication shall remain in force for a period up to 30th June 2020 from the date of its publication in the Official

Gazette.
