(Salaries)

NOTIFCATION UNDER THE TAMIL NADU TRANSPARENCY IN TENDERS ACT, 1998 (TAMIL NADU ACT 43 OF 1998)

[G.O. Ms. No. 227, Finance (Salaries),16th April 2020, Chithirai 3, Saarvari, Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2051]

No. II(2)/FIN/232(k)/2020.

WHEREAS, orders have been issued in G.O.(Ms) No.161, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated:27.03.2020

permitting the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited to procure all the equipment, consumables for medical care,

etc., which is related to the Prevention and Treatment and combating the said CORONA Virus Disease COVID-19 by taking

into account the following points namely;-

(a) The World Health Organisation has declared the COVID-19 as pandemic;

(b) The Government of India has decided to treat it as a notified disaster eligible for assistance under SDRF;

(c) The Government of Tamil Nadu in Health and Family Welfare Department has declared that CORONA Virus Disease

(COVID-19) is a notified disease in the State of Tamil Nadu for the purpose of Part –II in Chapter VII of the Tamil Nadu

Public Health Act Tamil Nadu Act 3 of 1939 i.e., for prevention, Notification and Treatment of the above said Disease;

AND WHEREAS, in this situation, the CORONA Virus Disease COVID-19 outbreak and preparedness measures are

being treated as an emergency in Tamil Nadu;

NOW THEREFORE, in pursuance of the orders issued in G.O.(Ms).No.161, Health and Family Welfare (H2) Department,

dated 27.03.2020 and under clause (a) of section 16 of the Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act

43 of 1998), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares the above said situation as an emergency and exempts from the

provisions of sections 9 and 10 of the said Act, the procurement by Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited the

equipment and consumables for medical care, etc., which is related to Prevention and Treatment and combating the CORONA

Virus Disease COVID-19.
