No. 67/2020—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 18(1) of the Code of Criminal
Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) read with Section 32(1) of the said Code, the High Court,
Madras, hereby appoints the following Presiding Offi cers of the Courts of Small Causes, Chennai, as
Special Metropolitan Magistrates, for a period of another one year with eff ect from 12th June 2019, to
try and dispose of the cases under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, which are pending in
large number and which are being transferred from the fi les of Metropolitan Magistrate Courts, Chennai
from time to time and they shall exercise all the powers of Metropolitan Magistrate under the said Code
for the said purpose:
