On 21-02-2020, the Government of Tamil Nadu has enacted the Tamil Nadu Protected Agricultural Zone Development Act,

2020 in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly with the following objectives:-

(a) to use the available agricultural lands for sustainable development of agriculture and ensure that the agricultural

activities are not unduly constrained by non-agricultural use or other development;

(b) to develop the protected agricultural zone through integrated farming and enhanced cultivation practices by promotion

of technologies to increase production and productivity of crops and farms;

(d) to promote agro-based and allied industries for sustainable agricultural development; and

(e) to promote research and development including skill building in the ﬁ eld of agriculture and allied sectors.

2. As per sub section (1) of Section 23 of the Tamil Nadu Protected Agricultural Zone Development Act, 2020, the Government

have framed Rules viz., Tamil Nadu Protected Agricultural Zone Development Rules, 2020 vide Government Order second read

above and it has been notiﬁ ed in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated 26-8-2020.

3. As per Section 5 (1) of the said act, there shall be an authority, by the name, Tamil Nadu Protected Agricultureal Zone

Development Authority under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Chief Minister and the members as detailed below:-

The Chief Minister - Chairperson;

The Deputy Chief Minister - Member;

The Minister for Finance - Member;

iv.

The Minister of Law - Member;

The Minister for Agriculture - Member;

be nominated by the Government - Members.

4. Accordingly, one Member of Parliament and two Members of Legislative Assembly representing the Agricultural

Protected Zone, three representatives of farmers and one Expert each from Agricultural Science, Horticultural Science and

Veterinary and Animal Science are to be nominated as members in the Tamil Nadu Protected Agriculture Zone Development

Authority to carry out the purpose of this Act.

5. The Government hereby nominate the following Member of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, farmers,

representatives and Experts from Agricultural Science, Horticultural Science and Veterinary and Animal Science as Members in

the Tamil nadu protected Agricultural Zone Authority to carry out the purpose of this Act:-

I. Member of Parliament (MP):-

Thiru R. Vaithiyalingam

II. Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA):-

(1) Thiru O.S. Manian, Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms and Textiles and Member of Legislative Assembly.

(2) Thiru R. Kamaraj, Hon'ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Member of Legislative Assembly.

III. Farmers' representatives:-

No.II(1)/BCMBCMW/17/2020.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu

Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of seats in Educational Institutions and

of appointments or posts in the Services under the State) Act, 1993 (Tamil Nadu Act 45 of 1994), the Governor of

Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities

Welfare Department Notiﬁ cation No.II(1)/BCMBCMW/36(a)/2008, Published at pages 1-9 of Part II-Section 1 of the

Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, dated the 5th September 2008.

In the said Notiﬁ cation, in the Schedule,

(i) for the entry "Perambalur" Wherever it occurs, the entries "Perambalur and Ariyalur " shall be substituted;

(ii) for the entries "Coimbatore and Erode" wherever it occurs, the entries "Coimbatore, Erode and Tiruppur" shall

be substituted;

(iii) for the entry "Kancheepuram" Wherever it occurs, the entries "Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu " shall be substituted;

(iv) for the entry "Shencottah Taluk of Tirunelveli" Wherever it occurs, the entry "Shencottah Taluk of Tenkasi " shall

be substituted;

(v) for the entry "Tirunelveli" Wherever it occurs, the entries "Tirunelveli and Tenkasi " shall be substituted;

(vi) for the entry "Villupuram" Wherever it occurs, the entries "Villupuram and Kallakurichi " shall be substituted;

The Transport Commissioner in his letter second read above, has stated that the Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai(East)

is functioning in its own building at No.6, Powder Mills Road, Pulianthope, Chennai-12 and that oﬃ ce is having the following

2. The Transport Commissiosner has also stated that the Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (East) is situated at

Pulianthope. The people residing at Pulianthope and adjacent to the Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (East) Oﬃ ce situated at

Pulianthope area for obtaining LLR, Driving Licence, Permit and all other works related to Regional Transport Oﬃ ce have to go to

Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (North) which is about 10Kms from Pulianthope. Hence, they are suﬀ ering a lot for obtaining

driving license and other related services.

3. The Transport Commissioner has further stated that the people those who are residing at Pulianthope, Chennai-12 are

frequently approaching Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (East) for obtaining LLR, Driving License and other related works, But,

they are not able to entertain and further when they are directed to approach Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (North), they

refused to go there and also argue that they are getting supply of ration commodities (PDS) from Pulianthope, paying their EB Bill,

Property Tax, Water Tax etc., in that area except Regional Transport Oﬃ ce related works.

4. The Transport Commissioner has, therefore, requested the Government to issue orders to transfer the Pulianthope,

(Pin Code Chennai 600 012) area from the Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (North) jurisdiction to Regional Transport Oﬃ ce,

Chennai (East) jurisdiction in the interest of Public.

5. The Government, after careful examination of the proposal of the Transport Commissioner, Chennai have decided to

transfer the Pulianthope, (Pin Code Chennai 600 012) area from the Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai (North) jurisdiction to

Regional Transport Oﬃ ce, Chennai(East) jurisdiction in the interest of the General Public
