Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Regulations, 1954.

No. SRO B-37/2020.— In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 318 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of
Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Regulations, 1954 (Volume-I
of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual, 1987).
2. The amendment hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 13th November, 2020.

In the said Regulations, in ANNEXURE V, after clause 1, the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
"1A. Appointment to the post of Section Offi cer shall be made by recruitment by transfer from among the holders of the
posts of Assistant Section Offi cer and Assistant Section Offi cer-cum Programmer in the ratio of 8:1.
Provided that if, in any particular panel year, no qualifi ed Assistant Section Offi cers are available, the unfi lled vacancies
earmarked for Assistant Section Offi cer shall be fi lled up from among the holders of the post of Assistant Section Offi cer-cum
Programmer and vice versa".
