APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON IN THE STATE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION FOR

CERTAIN PERIOD UNDER THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS ACT.

In exercise of powers conferred under Section 22(1) of the Protection of Human Rights

Act, 1993 (Central Act 10 of 1994) as amended by Central Act 19 of 2019, the Governor of

Tamil Nadu is pleased to appoint Thiru Justice S. Baskaran (Retd) as Chairperson of the State

Human Rights Commission, Tamil Nadu, in the existing vacancy for a period of three years or till

he attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier, with eff ect from the date of assumption

of charge.
