NOTIFICATION BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA

ISSUE OF POSTAL BALLOT TO ELECTORS ABOVE THE AGE OF 80 YEARS AND

ELECTORS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITY.

The following Notifi cation of the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110 001,

Dated 17th March 2021 [26 Phalguna, 1942 (Saka)] is published:

No.52/2021/SDR/Vol-I, Dated.17th March 2021

In pursuance of the provisions of clause (c) of Section-60 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election

Commission hereby specifi es that the electors above the age of 80 years and electors with physical disability (benchmark)

as already marked/fl agged in the data base of the electoral rolls of the State and, who request for voting by postal ballot

paper and subject to the verifi cation of his request by Returning Offi cer concerned, would be a class of persons to give

vote by postal ballot in the current bye-elections to the House of People in the State notifi ed / to be notifi ed under Section

30 of Representation of the People, 1951, as per the provisions in Part-Ill A of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, as

amended vide Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, Notifi cation SO No. 3786(E), dated 22nd October, 2019, and

the directions and guidelines issued by the Election Commission.
