09-10-2021 (SATURDAY)] AS HOLIDAYS IN CONNECTION WITH THE POLL DAYS FOR

RURAL LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS, 2021.

Under the Explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act

XXVI of 1881) read with the Notifi cation of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Aff airs

No.20-25-26, Public-I, dated the 8th June 1957, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby declares

Wednesday, the 06th October, 2021 and Saturday, the 09th October, 2021 the dates on which

the poll for the Ordinary elections to the rural local bodies 2021 will take place, to be public

holidays, in those areas wherever such poll takes place in the nine re-constituted districts,

namely Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupathur, Villupuram, Kallakurichi,

Tirunelveli and Tenkasi and also declares Saturday, the 9th October, 2021, the date on which

the poll for the Casual elections to the rural local bodies will take place, to be a public holiday,

in those areas wherever such poll takes place in the other 28 districts.
