Award of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Police Medal for Gallantry to Thiru S. Sekar, Deputy Superintendent of

Police, Anti-Land Grabbing Special Cell, Madurai, formerly Assistant Commissioner of Police, Social Justice and

Human Rights, Tirunelveli City.

No. SRO A-2/2022—Thiru S. Sekar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anti-Land Grabbing Special Cell, Madurai, formerly

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Tirunelveli City is awarded the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's

Police Medal for Gallantry in recognition of the courageous effort taken by him as detailed below:-

"Thiru S. Sekar, then Assistant Commissioner of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Tirunelveli City has shown

remarkable efficiency in adverting a suicide attempt of a person namely Thiru S. Ganesan, who threatened to commit suicide

by pouring kerosene on his body and climbed up on the water tank which is of 70 feet height in Xavier Colony, near Tirunelveli

New Bus stand on 15-8-2020. Thiru S. Sekar, Assistant Commissioner of Police acted promptly in that situation and prevented

the suicide by slowly pacifying the above said person and captured that person with the help of Fire and Rescue Service

Department. Thus the life of the person is saved."

2. The above Police officer is eligible for a cash price of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakhs only) as per rules.
