Amendment to the Notification under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.

[G.O. Ms. No. 36, Home, Prohibition and Excise (III), 11th May 2022,

No. II(1)/HOPE/32/2022.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 18-B of the

Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act X of 1937), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following

amendments to the Prohibition and Excise Department Notification No.II(1)/PE/239(d)/81, published at page 2 of

Part II-Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 1st May 1981, as subsequently

amended:-

Amendments

In the said Notification, in the TABLE, in the Annexure under the entry “Indian Made Foreign Spirits

(brand names of which are specified in the Annexure) other than sacramental wine” in column (1),-

(i)

under the heading "ORDINARY BRANDS", under the sub-heading "Thiruvalargal SNJ Distillers Private Limited”,

the entries "Top Star Special Whisky" and "Black Cat Special Brandy" shall be omitted;

(ii)

under the heading "MEDIUM BRANDS", under the sub-heading "Thiruvalargal SNJ Distillers Private Limited”,

the entry "Anaconda No. 1 Extra VSOP Brandy" shall be omitted;

(iii) under the heading "PREMIUM BRANDS", under the sub-heading "Thiruvalargal SNJ Distillers Private Limited”,

the entry "Bejois Nepoleon Reserve Brandy" shall be omitted.

amendments to the Prohibition and Excise Department Notification No.II(1)/PE/239(d)/81, published at page 2 of

Part II-Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 1st May 1981, as subsequently

amended:-

the entry "Old Secret Brandy" shall be omitted;

(ii)

under the heading "PREMIUM BRANDS", under the sub-heading "Thiruvalargal Empee Distilleries Limited”,

the entry "Empees Premium Gold Whisky" shall be omitted.
