In Accordance With Rule 2, In Regard to the Elections to the Tamil Nadu Medical Council, Chennai, under clause (F)

of sub-Section (1) of Section 5 of The Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914 (Act IV of 1914) as Amended by the Madras

Medical Registration (Amendment) Act XVI of 1938, Notice is hereby given that an Election of Seven Members of the Council

to be Elected from amongst themselves by the Registered Medical Practitioners whose names appear in the printed Medical

Registers (Electoral Roll-Soft Copy) updated upto 30th June 2022 available in the Medical Council oﬃ ce, will be held.

Nomination paper in form II under the rule will be supplied by the returning Oﬃ cer to any elector who may apply for

the same from 19.10.2022. These must be ﬁ led in accordance with the instructions thereon and returned to the returning

Oﬃ cer not later than 3.P.M on Monday, the 31st October, 2022. The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place at 11.A.M

on Tuesday the 1st November, 2022 at the oﬃ ce of the returning oﬃ cer. A list of valid nominations will be published in the

Tamil Nadu Government Gazette on Wednesday, the 9th november, 2022. Last date for withdrawal of nomination is 3 p.M.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of rule 5 in regard to the elections to the Tamil Nadu Medical Council,

Chennai under Clause (f) sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914 as amended by the

Madras Medical Registration (Amendment Act XVI of 1938) that the election of seven members to the Tamil Nadu Medical

Council, Chennai, to serve for a term of ﬁ ve years is to be held and the electorate is called upon to elect the members.

Nominations of eligible persons to ﬁ ll the vacancies are invited.

Each candidate must be nominated by separate nomination paper, but any person entitled to vote at the election may

sign the nomination paper of any number of candidates not exceeding the number to be elected and for which he is entitled

to vote. Every nomination paper must be in Form II giving all the details as required therein.

The nomination paper must reach the undersigned not later than 3 P.M. on Monday the 31st October, 2022 from

whom nomination papers may be obtained on application. Nomination papers which are not received by the Returning oﬃ cer

by the aforesaid date and time will be invalid. Each candidate standing for election shall deposit or cause to be deposited

with the Returning oﬃ cer the sum of Rupees Five Thousand only in Cash on or before Monday, the 31st October, 2022

In accordance with rule 17 of the rules for the conduct of the subsequent elections to the Tamil Nadu Medical Council,

Chennai, under clause (f) of sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914 (Act IV of 1914) as

amended by the Madras Medical Registration (Amendment Act, 1938), an election of Seven members of the Council will

have to be held in the month of January / February 2023.

In this context, any Representation / omission / deletion in the Electoral Roll were called for “In Person” to the

Registrar cum Returning Oﬃ cer on any working days between 3 PM to 5 PM on or before 07.10.2022. Since there were

NO representations received by this Oﬃ ce, all Registered Medical Practitioners registered upto 30.06.2022 as published

in the Government of Tamil Nadu Gazette dated 14.09.2022, will be the Final Electoral Roll eligible to vote for this election.
