NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT

HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DEPARTMENT

AMENDMENT TO THE ADHOC RULES FOR THE TAMIL NADU MEDICAL SERVICE.

Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2054.]

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of

Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the rules published with the Health and Family Welfare

Department. Notification No. SRO B-84/93, pages 81-82 of Part III-Section 1(b) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette,

dated the 2nd June 1993.

Amendments.

In the said Rules, – (1) for rule 3, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:-

“3. Appointment. – Appointment to the post shall be made as follows:-

(1) by promotion from the among the holders of the posts of Lecturer in Statistics and Demography and Statistical

Officer in the following order of rotation:-

(1) Lecturer in Statistics and Demography.

(2) Statistical Officer.

(3) Lecturer in Statistics and Demography.

(4) Lecturer in Statistics and Demography

(5) Statistical Officer.

(6) Lecturer in Statistics and Demography.

Provided that if no suitable candidate is available for promotion in any of the above feeder categories, then

that turn shall lapse and the vacancy shall be filled up by holder of the other feeder category.

(ii) By direct recruitment, if no suitable candidate is available by promotion.;

Provided that if there is no qualified hands to fill up a category earmarked in the rotation, the turn will lapse and

the vacancy shall be filled by next category.

(2) in rule 4, in sub-rule (b), for the Table, the following Table shall be substituted namely:-

years in population studies, Evolution designs

and Techniques.”
