Financial Establishments) Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu

Act 44 of 1997) – M/S SVR Venkatram Chettiyar

Thanga Maligai Jewellers, Dharapuram, Tiruppur

District – Default in return of deposits by the Financial

Establishment – Ad – interim order attaching the

movable properties of the said financial establishment

under section 3 of the said Act – Orders – Issued.]

Order No. 11, Home (Police-XIX),15th March 2024

WHEREAS, complaints have been received from

a number of depositors that Messers SVR Venkatram

Chettiyar Thanga Maligai Jewellers, Dharapuram, Tiruppur

District, a financial establishment, has defaulted the

return of deposits made by the depositors after maturity;

AND WHEREAS, the Government are satisfied that

the said financial establishment is not likely to return the

deposits to the depositors and hence, the Government

have to protect the interests of such depositors;

AND WHEREAS, the movable properties specified

in the Schedule to this order are alleged to have been

procured by the said financial establishment from and

out of the deposits collected from the depositors;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers

conferred by section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Protection

of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishments)

Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act 44 of 1997), the Governor of

Tamil Nadu hereby makes an ad-interim order attaching the

movable properties of the defaulted financial establishment,

namely, M/s.SVR Venkatram Chettiyar Thanga Maligai

Jewellers, functioned at Chinnakadai veedhi, Dharapuram,

Tiruppur, as specified in the Schedule to this order and

transfers the control over the said movable properties to

the Competent Authority, namely, the Competent Authority

and District Revenue Officer, Tiruppur District appointed

under the said Act.

2) The Competent Authority and District Revenue

Officer, Tiruppur District is requested to pursue

further action in accordance with the procedure laid

down in sub-sections (3) and (4) of section 4 of the

said Act and also the formalities prescribed in the

Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors

(in Financial Establishments) Rules, 1997.

3) The Special Public Prosecutor, Special Court

for the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors

(in Financial Establishments) Act, 1997, Coimbatore is

requested to render necessary assistance to the Competent

Authority and District Revenue Officer, Tiruppur District in

filing the application before the Special Court constituted

under the said Act.

Order: No. 235, Home (Police-XIX), dated 16th March 2024.

WHEREAS, complaints have been received from

a number of depositors that Messrs TVR Benefit

fund, Thiruvarur District, a financial establishment, has

defaulted the ruturn of deposits made by the depositors

after maturity;

AND WHEREAS, the Government are satisfied that

the said financial establishment is not likely to return the

deposits to the depositors and hence, the Government

have to protect the interests of such depositors;

AND WHEREAS, since, no other movable and

immovable properties are available for attachment and

to repay the deposits to the depositors, it is proposed

to attach the immovable properties of Accused No.7

of the said financial establishment viz., Tmt.Uma,

W/o. Mathivanan specified in the Schedule to the order,

which were purchased prior to the commencement of

business of the said Financial Establishment.

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers

conferred by section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Protection

of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishments),

Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act 44 of 1997), the

Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes an ad-interim

order attaching the immovable property of A7- Tmt.Uma,

W/o. Mathivanan, of the defaulted financial establishment

2. The Competent Authority and District Revenue

Officer, Thiruvarur District is requested to pursue

further action in accordance with the procedure laid

down in sub-sections (3) and (4) of section 4 of the

said Act and also the formalities prescribed in the

Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors

(in Financial Establishments) Rules, 1997.

3. The Special Public Prosecutor, Special Court for

the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors (in

Financial Establishments) Act, 1997, Chennai is requested

to render necessary assistance to the Competent Authority

and District Revenue Officer, Thiruvarur District in filing

the application before the Special Court constituted

under the said Act.

The following erratum is issued to the Labour

Welfare and Skill Development Department Notification

No. II(2)/LWSD/979/2022, published at page 1104 of Part

II-Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette,

dated the 14th December 2022, Namely:-

Erratum.

In the said Notification,-

1. In para 2, under the sub-heading Explanations.-

In clause (iii) for "Grade-II: Those who have not

completed five years of service", read "Grade-II: Those

who have not completed five years of regular service.".

2. Under the sub-heading Dearness Allowance, in

clause (i),-

(i) (a) for "Consumer Price Index", read "Consumer

Price Index Number";

(b) for "namely is 161 points", read "namely 161

points";

(c) for "an increase of Rs. 49.20", read "Rs. 49.20";

and

(ii) in clause (iii), for "this notification", read "the

Notification.".
