JUDICIAL NOTIFICATION

AMENDMENTS TO THE MADRAS HIGH COURT SERVICE RULES, 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 229(1) and (2) of the Constitution of India read with Rule 28(b) of the

Madras High Court Service Rules, 2015 and of all other powers connected thereto, the Hon’ble The Acting Chief Justice

is pleased to make the following amendments to the Madras High Court Service Rules, 2015.

Amendment-I

In Rule 14A under the heading “Qualification and Mode of Appointment to the posts in Divisions II and III”, “DIVISION-II

(NON-GAZETTED-SUPERIOR POSTS)”, the existing entries in Clause (b) of Qualification Required column against Sl.No.4,

Category 2 post No. (iii) namely, Personal Assistant to the Hon'ble Judges including Personal Assistant to the Hon'ble

The Chief Justice and Private Secretary to the Hon'ble The Chief Justice, shall be substituted by the following entries:

b)

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting English Higher Grade

and Typewriting in Tamil Higher Grade.

Amendment-II

In Rule 14A under the heading “Qualification and Mode of Appointment to the posts in Divisions II and III”,

“DIVISION-II (NON-GAZETTED-SUPERIOR POSTS)”, the existing entries in Clause (b) of Qualification Required column

against Sl.No.9, Category 4 namely, Private Secretary to the Registrar General, shall be substituted by the following entries:

b)

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting English Higher Grade

and Typewriting in Tamil Higher Grade

The above amendments shall come into force with effect from 11.07.2024
