MEASURE OF PUNISHMENT

In relation to clause (f) of section 4 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act 45 of 2023), the Governor of

Tamil Nadu, in consultation with the High Court of Madras, hereby notifies the following guidelines for award of Community

Service as a measure of punishment:-

(b) The period of community service to be imposed as a measure of punishment shall be the prerogative of the Court;

(c) The Authorising Officer and Monitoring Authority on completion of the period of the Community Service shall issue

a compliance report to the Court which had imposed such punishment.
