MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION AND WATER SUPPLY DEPARTMENT

REMOVAL FROM CHAIRMANSHIP TIRUNELVELI DISTRICT – MANIMUTHARU TOWN PANCHAYAT –

“NO CONFIDENCE MOTION” AGAINST CHAIRPERSON, MANIMUTHARU SPECIAL GRADE TOWN

PANCHAYAT – RESOLUTION PASSED UNDER THE TAMIL NADU URBAN LOCAL BODIES ACT, 1999.

WHEREAS, a written notice of the intention to make a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.J.Anthoniammal,

Chairperson, Manimutharu Special Grade Town Panchayat, Thirunelveli district, signed by twelve members, out of the

sanctioned strength of fifteen members of the Council, together with a copy of the motion proposed to be made and a

written statement of charges against the said Chairperson have been delivered to the Executive Officer, Manimutharu

Special Grade Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli district in person by two members as required under sub-section (2) of

section 51 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 9 of 1999);

AND WHEREAS, a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.J.Anthoniammal, Chairperson, Manimutharu

Special Grade Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli district had been carried with a support of twelve members out of the

sanctioned strength of fifteen members of the said Town Panchayat in the meeting convened by the Executive Officer,

Manimutharu Special Grade Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli district on the 8th May 2025 after following the procedures

specified in the said section 51 and the copy of the minutes of the meeting together with a copy of the motion and

the result of the voting thereon, on the termination of the meeting have been forwarded by the Executive Officer under

sub-section (11) of the said section 51 to Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (12) of section 51 the Tamil Nadu Urban

Local Bodies Act, 1998, (Tamil Nadu Act, 9 of 1999), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby removes Tmt.J.Anthoniammal,

Chairperson, Manimutharu Special Grade Town Panchayat, Tirunelveli district from the Office of the Chairperson of

the said Town Panchayat Council with immediate effect.
